    Is this our sport?

Everybody knows the dice are loaded

Everybody knows with their fingers crossed

Everybody knows that the war is over

Everybody knows that the good guys lost

Everybody knows the fight is fixed

The poor stay poor and the rich get rich

    Thats how it goes

    Everybody knows.

With Senator McCains efforts to help boxing, different thoughts came to my mind. How could he help, what would it help and does it even need help.

The common public perseption is that boxing is tainted dirty and not played on an even level. The words up top are words from a Concrete Blonde song. Are these words indicitive of how the world perseves our sport?

    Respect

Many times I have heard people saying that someone does not respect the sport of boxing. Let us call the sport of boxing a name and call it "Mr Boxing". Mr Boxing can not demand respect, instead it has to earn respect. Has Mr Boxing earned respect? I say no he has not, and that the only thing Mr Boxing has earned is a kick up the backside because all of the tommyrot he has been up to. Untill Mr Boxing learns to behave himself, he will not earn respect. Don King, Bob Arum and the like, I think of them as very shady characters indeed. The judging is corrupt a lot of the times. There needs to be a massive purge in boxing to get rid of all these naughty people that are making boxing look bad. We need more people like Lewis and Holyfield to come forward.

Agreed. Too many times have great fights turned into **** because of shady characters putting pressure on judges. Friday Night Fights is a prime example, how many times have you seen a fighter get screwed out of a clear win, even Teddy says so.

Funny thing, I've been told that as well. To be compared to those guys is cool I guess, its better than being compared to Herman Munster or something like that.

One thing with the picture though. When it was taken I was rubbing the inside of my bottom lip with my tongue. The guy that I fought had just headbutted me square in the chops like 5 minutes before and tore up the inside of my lip. The picture makes me look like I have a huge chin. It would have been rather hard to survive in this sport with a chin like that sticking out.
