This is one of the few times where top ten rankings aren't representative of the best talent the division has to offer. Aside from Thompson, you've got Fury, Dimitrenko and Helenius in there. Fury is sloppy and awful, Dimitrenko is awful and a coward, and Helenius should have lost his last fight. Pulev's alright but is still more or less an up and comer, not a bonafide world title challenger. Is this really representative of the top ten heavyweights in the world? Hell, I'd pick Mitchell or Stiverne to beat Dimitrenko tomorrow, and Chisora already beat Helenius.

Boytsov? Ustinov? Pulev? You know all these fighters that Eastern Euro's are always raving about even though they haven't done jackshit, but still are pretty highly ranked in the division. They > Thompson & Mormeck by MILES. At least on paper.
As terrible of a division as it is, the division is far from being cleaned out. Even though it's practically impossible in this day and age to clean out a division.
People consider it shit because they have a set of eyes or eyeglasses that work properly.
If a 40 year old Mormeck and a 40 year old Tony Thompson is what you think passes as "quality opposition" (both C- level fighters even at their very "best") i would suggest you stop following this sport, sir. All the guys you mentioned, Fury, Boytsov, Helenius, Mitchell aren't willing or ready for a title shot and have received countless offers from Klitschko's camp, all refused. Although I admit Mormeck was a miserable choice to fight, Thompson is a mandatory challenger (blame the IBF) and Chisora is a good choice.Comment
