Donaire convincingly beat a good fighter. This wasn't a fighter struggling with a bum, or having a close fight with someone he was supposed to knock out, or anything like that. Now he's trash, and loses to everyone else at 122 and has no chance against anyone at 126.

I swear, if any great fighter looks the least bit vulnerable against another good fighter, he's automatically trash around here. Mayweather's trash because Mosley caught him with two right hands, Pacquiao's trash because he struggled with Marquez, Bradley is trash for not looking perfect against Alexander, Gamboa was trash for not blowing away Salido until Salido stopped Lopez, etc.

I'd love to see a list of fighters that have always looked perfect against other good fighters.

i think many of the pundits calm down after they take a nap and eat a cookie, but you're very right
      it's comical

the poster's reactions to fights around here make me question their motives.
      my favorites:
rigo should be favored over donaire
      rubio threw the fight
and donaire sucks because he looked "bad against a bum"

many of them were also sucking vasquez' nuts before the arce fight,
      calling for a rubio upset,
saying that donaire would clean house from 118 to 135 and then fight pacquiao
      all great stuff

Right! After that fight Gamboa was getting killed. It gets very annoying, every fight this site acts like this.

I think Donaire looked solid, and very good in spots. I dont see him sticking around at 122 for too long though. The Rigondeaux fight just got a lil bit more interesting for me TBH.

Just doing stuff right can help a lot as Vasquez showed.

Very, very solid by Vasquez, he's a good fighter and with Donaire moving up in weight and all I don't see why everyone is making such a big deal over what happened.

Donaire won the wide decision, scored a knockdown, simple as that decisive victory. This being his first fight at 122 he might have went out to test the waters. He had no idea how tough these fighters were in relation to him or how tolling it would be fighting a heavier opponent.

Overall good performance by Donaire. He didn't look as sharp though. A lot of his punches landing on the gloves and arms but fighters do have off nights.

I'd like to see Gamboa/Donaire at 126. But it seems as though Donaire will have to meet him at 130. I think that Gamboa will be far too much for Donaire any higher than 126. Nonito doesnt seem to have that devistating pop above 118. He'll be dealing with someone just as akward, with more speed, more pop, as well(its arguable)more ring intelligence.

Agreed. But you know what BB? It seemed that Nonito was able to muscle WV2 more in the earlier rounds, but as the fight wore on, he didnt have the strength to muscle him so diffenatively. I'd have to look at it again to insure that it wasnt a adjustment in WV2's footwork that led this to be the reason for it, or if the move up in weight was finally showing its face.

man....donaire was a 20:1 favorite he was supposed to smash this bum . stop acting like this was anything but a gimme just because donaire is nowhere near as good as he is being hyped as evidenced by his last 2 fights.

I think his power is still very good. He knocked down a guy who had never been down and hurt him a few times. Plus he was fighting with a broken hand when all that happened.
