Roach is notroiosuy poor at giving advice between rounds. I think Roach is all about the gameplan. He expects his charges to execute what they practiced in the gym. He does come up with a great offensive gameplan and when it works it works well.

However when his fighters are unable to execute the gameplan or find that the gameplan is not working for them they are basically on their own.... Look at Khan v Maidana, Khan v Peterson, Pac V JMM.... all classic examples of this.

I think Freddie mostly due to his condition, isn't capable of communicating well these days - and it's worse under pressure or when he's not relaxed.

It's a great shame because I think some of the guys in the stable feel they could be getting better advice in fight, but won't say.

Freddie's less and less in control of his corner and fighter as time goes on. This is evident by other people getting more and more involved during fights. For eg. the Ariza incidents, JCC Jr. and even some of Khan's - family/friends getting too close to the corner.
