JCCjr fought hard. MAR was game but never doing enough to win. Saw it 117-111 JCCjr. He said the right thing post fight; if he fights like this Champion SM will win. He's growing and he's humble on the way up. He's no longer in the lobby of the highrise of stardom. Drawing $ doesn't bring respect; fighting, adapting, challenge all comers, trashless talk, and conquering in the ring brings respect.. Some have some; few have all... JCCjr battled and won versus a game fighter. He's on the elevator but its stopping one floor at a time. He needs to admit he needs 2 more fights versus the other titlist any maybe he can be ready to face Champion Sergio Martinez at the end of the year...

WBO judge Ruben Garcia's scoring was absurd even w/KD...scoring was sporadic the entire evening...JCC Jr's scoring was very uneven...I had it 9-3 ( 117-111) maybe Ford's 116-112 is ok but Canadian Woodburn's 7-5 is way off...who assign's these judges??(don't answer, I know)...not the best of bouts & Donaire won't beat Rigondeaux, ever...

I didn't score the first fight, but I'm sure I would have had him winning probably 7-5 or 8-4 had I done it. I had JCC Jr. winning 115-113, but that's honestly as close as you could have had it, and I easily could have seen how you would give one or 2 rounds more to JCC Jr. I thought it was probably his best performance as a pro. Now of course Rubio is a limited boxer and his only chance was to land something meaningful. He couldn't do it. A guy who could actually move and not let Chavez back him into the ropes will beat him, because JCC Jr. is still a really bad fighter from distance. Donaire I was not real impressed with overall. Vasquez is not a bad fighter, but he gave him a lot of trouble later on in the fight. Rigo would be a whole lot of problems for Donaire, which is of course why he is going to continue to pretend like he doesn't exist.

Go watch the pavlik rubio fight then rewatch this fight. Pavlik, who is a fairly limited fighter, absolutely killed rubio. Jcc jr won this fight clearly, but his performance was nothing like pavlik's against rubio. Rubio is a blown up light middle who can't really compete at middle. Jcc jr. Has gotten better but he's still awfully limited. Champion? No, but he might now be cracking the top 10.
