this is was his biggest fight you dumbfuck. he did not do anything to try and earn chavez's respect for his punching power. he didn't try to break him down at all. he was a slightly more aggressive punching bag than you'll find at a gym. he didn't show up tonight. i'm assuming he took some under the table money to look like cause no fighter (i don't care how they fight) would put such little effort to try and become a world champion.

Is this a serious post? Anyway I like Larry Merchant I don't know why he gets hated on so much he calls it how it is. If it was Floyd people would be going crazy in here about the questions but clearly he kept the Martinez subject even when Jr. dropped other names and even stated the BEST middle weight, and Jr. answered the question like a true gentleman props to him.

you cant please some of these guys in here, though, benny. this isnt a bad fight.

the kid had no amateur career and he's beating the fucck out of a guy who lots of these guys picked to win via stoppage
Yeah, it was good. Rubio fought his usual fight and honestly showed more desire than in many of his other fights. He did well in there. Chavez was just too good.

I think it was his legs. He took a punch before it, but I think maybe his legs just went a little bit jelly-like very, very briefly and you could see him just stumble, but I think it was more the weight loss etc.

Yeah. it's funny that most people slagging this fight and Chavez were the ones who said he didn't stand a chance and would get knocked out brutally. Suddenly, Rubio gets dominated completely....What can you expect? They're not going to give him credit for it. Just come back and say "Rubio was paid off" blah blah blah.

CLearly a lot of guys picking Rubio to win had never seen him fight before. He fought exactly like he always has.

you dump piece a sht. This is rubio we are talking about he is what he is . A COME FORWARD FIGHTER WHOS LOOKS TO BREAK HIS OPPONENTS DOWN. WHEN THAT FAILS HE HAS NOTHING ELSE TO OFFER HE WONT START BOXING OR SWITH IT UP. When he fought pavlik he was shut down almost instatly bc he couldnt hurt pavlik and pavlik could hurt him. You cant teach an old dog new tricks pendejo
