Do you think this is true?

Ok, I'm basing this on Manny since that's the only boxer I know most about though I hope some of you can mention others that maybe went in this similiar direction.
Ok, so Manny fights with hunger and as the usual Manny until he takes on Barrera. He trains so hard for months, and puts on a masterful performance that was flawless regardless if it was Barrera's night or not. Barrera simply had no answers and was served a full course of leather for 11 rounds straight. So now Manny win's what most people recongnized as the Featherweight Champion. Now where's the hunger? It's as if, Manny's sole purpose in life was to get to Barrera, put on the performance of his career, and that's it.
That's where I'm getting to. Do you think once a boxer puts on a performance of his career, it could be almost equivalent to an actor winning an oscar? Once they reach that high platue, it's as if, there is nothing else to reach to, and now they can put on lackluster performances with little care involved. I'm getting at Halle Berry getting an Oscar for Monster, then goes and does Catwoman movie I'm getting at, Manny doing a flawless performance vs Barrera to a , don't give a sheet performance vs Marquez, and not giving 2 ****s about the rematch. Marquez is training in high alttitudes, while Manny is watching his ****fights and doing talk shows and tvs hows. He's suppose to go like the first week of January to train. That's the samea mount of time he will have had for their first fight to train. He's the one that needs the plan to win, not Marquez. I think all hope is lost for Manny at this point. This isn't a guy who knows what his people expect from him and what's at stake, it's a immature kid who doesn't seem to care much about his fans or how it will hurt them if he doesn't do well. He's definitely a Mike Tyson 2

You know bro, all your points are valid. He's not only into ****fights and TV shows nowadays, he's also into pool as we all know and also basketball which could give him serious injury. And while JMM is already in the thick of training, Pacman is still whiling his time away and not keeping his weight on check. I'm sure the whole Filipino nation is biting its nails and worried sick over these developments!

Here's an honest-to-goodness article by Recah Trinidad:

The world boxing celebrity tends to drag his feet outside the boxing ring.

He could be as lazy, languorous as a cool summer breeze.

He drowns in harvest-time merriment and often takes long to decide.

Take, for example, his departure for training in the United States.

Instead of Jan. 5, Pacquiao now says he's leaving Jan. 8 to link up with trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.

This despite Roach's advice for him to leave for LA immediately after Christmas Day.

Time is of the essence in his preparation against the Juan Manuel Marquez.

Other than foot-drag, Pacquiao also loves to cut corners and cram.

He only had three weeks to prepare for his last fight in Taguig City.

He had a tight, awkward start against Fahsan 3K Battery.

Naturally, what had singularly surfaced to most fans, mainly the thrilled television enthusiasts, was Pacquiao's might.

Sorry, but most of those who saw that fight did not notice how Pacquiao had to gasp for breath come the third round.

Thank God it did not happen, because it would have been a disaster if the fight had, say, gone past six rounds.

With his insufficient preparation, Pacquiao would have run out of gas.

His could've softened and fizzled out.

He would have been reduced to a foamy, willing target.

At least, Pacquiao would later admit that, contrary to his pre-fight vow, he was not a hundred percent against the overmatched Thai brawler.

Unfortunately, Pacquiao appeared unable to read the message in his last fight.

The warning was loud and clear: He cannot afford to cram against Marquez.

I don't give a lot on everything that's going on with Manny. I think most of them are blown up of proportion and as thing goes, it looks like Manny is every Filipino's creme de la creme nowadays, and in case of Recah Trinidad, his whipping boy.

Recah thinks that he is playing smart by being the only one on the other side of the fence, bashing Manny in everybody opportunity he gets. By doing so, he puts himself under another spotlight and he owns the spot alone, so that makes him stand out among the others who share one spotlight. So everytime Recah speaks about Manny, the sound reververates louder. In the meantime, all the other people under the other spotlight would not let Recah steal the show from them and adds another twist to the story, thus making the news louder and biffer -- and before you know it the story gets out of control, when in reality there is nothing to tell at all. And this is why even Manny's fart is a big news to them.

In other words, I don't believe everything those attention-hungry media flip people keep churning out of their make-believe mills.

I have to agree with Janno.
For whatever its worth, maybe all these
negative publicity about Pac will wake him
up and make him a better person.

i just hope he lives up to his countrymen's expectation...but i guess that's an extra load for manny to carry. so we have to take it easy on pacman. but i always think that constructive criticism makes one a better person and i hope recah's actions are toward that end.

mabuhay si manny pacquiao. mabuhay ang pilipinas!

The JMM fight will speak volumes of the
current state of mind and inner conditioning
of Pacquiao. We shall all see where the real
Pacman currently is on the Feb fight.
