Comments Thread For: Odlanier Solis To Return on Gamboa-Rios Undercard

BoxingScene.com has been advised that heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12KOs) will likely return on April 14th at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, as part of the undercard to the proposed lightweight clash between Yuriorkis Gamboa and Brandon Rios. Solis will enter the ring for the first time since the March 2011 first round stoppage to WBC champion Vitali Klitschko. When Solis got dropped at the end of the round, he badly injured his knee. As a result of the injury, he underwent several surgical procedures and several months of rehab were required.

He never got dropped by the shot, anyone that has experienced acl damage will tell you that is why he went down. Should have been a NC

Would love to see him rematch Vitali or fight Wlad.

I don't understand how anyone can watch the first round of that Vitali fight and not see that Solis would have given Vitali a tough fight. I thought he was winning the round.

I hope he gets a shot at one of the Klitschkos. Vitali would be a hypocrite if he doesn't fight this guy. He complained about not getting another shot at Lennox after the ref stopped their fight. Solis tore his knee up he deserves another chance.

Hahaha. Not that argument again. He landed about 3 punches. Vitali always starts off slow and sizes up his opponent. Solis would have been gone by the end of six rounds.

Let's see Solis beat someone noteworthy before he gets any more title shots.

But Vitali's injury wasn't because he was a lazy fat pig who had put too much stress on his joints because of obesity.

Solis barely beat Ray Austin. If he can defeat someone legitimate, sure, give him another shot. But I'm not sure he can manage that.

I think if Vitali only has 2-3 fights left, he won't be wasting one of them on Solis -- it will have to be Wlad if he does get another shot.

He did got drop, on his way down he injured his knee, but definitely he lost his balance because the punch on top of his head, I don't know if he could continue if not the acl or if he would stay down for the count, but it was a knockdown...
