  • Comments Thread For: Shan Khan Admits Amir Could Join Mayweather Chase in Days

Shah Khan, the father of former two division world champion Amir Khan (26-2, 18KOs), revealed that his son is possibly a few days away from joining the chase for a big-money fight with WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs). Khan, who lost his WBA/IBF junior welterweight titles last December to Lamont Peterson, is giving Peterson a few days to accept a proposed rematch.

Am I missing something? Since when has khan ever been a 2 division world champ?

Khan would have to beat Ortiz 1st to get a shot a Mayweather. If not Ortiz, then Mike Jones. He needs a victory over a legit welterweight to earn the right to face the Champ.

Probably mean to say 2 time division champion.
Also, WTF makes Khan think he can get this?
I thought Mayweather was picking today.... IDK. If he picks Khan, that's just another hypocrisy he and his fans have to answer for.

khan isn't even dominating in his own division, now he wants to chase the best boxer in the world at higher weight? no.....
at least as a khans fan i don't want to see his career end on may 5th.

Just a negotiating tactic he ain't facing Mayweather. He might face Ortiz or Mosley then if he does well he will face Mayweather.Mayweather has never faced anyone coming off a loss and has also said 'Khan runs a lot.I wish he had been disqualified' and that's from fighthype.http://www.fighthype.com/pages/content11654.html

Yet more hilarity from Team Khan.

I hate how they continually state, "We're willing to do the rematch 50-50" as if it's some huge offering. Dude, you lost the first fight, if you really wanna show courage take less than 50%. I repeat: you LOST the first fight. Now you are OFFERING the VICTOR an even split of the purse? I'm glad Peterson is rubber-earing him, he has a potential Marquez fight which would almost certainly lead to a Pacquiao/Bradley fight.

Looks like they are trying to press Peterson into a decision still..... Won't work
