I'm really excited to see what Hershman brings to HBO. I thought he did a great job over at showtime, despite having a small budget, they always seemed to have good, competitive fights and he says he's sticking to that philosophy so that's great.

It's not always about the big fights or the big names, rather simply competitive, entertaining cards. That's what HBO needs. Not the big stars vs subpar opposition which we've been fed for so many years. Whenever a halfway decent fight occurred on HBO it was like a blessing.

OMG. What do you think he's going to bring? New graphics. More stats. More ****** background stories about boxers ala "Victor Ortiz is soooo poor here is 10,000 stories about it".

These morons all think the same thing: Must bring in more casual fans. Must bring in women. Must show more stories. Background stories. Talking endlessly about boxers lives will draw in women and casual fans.

ALL WE NEED ARE BIG FIGHTS!!! That's it!!!!! You can use CSPAN's graphics for all I care. It's about the fights. Period.

Hope Hershman will develop real young talent on HBO new series and won't do favors to managers like al haymon and cameron dunkin . It has to be fair .

man, Hersman's whole philosophy is about having competitive fights. And for the most part he did that at showtime the only problem was they had such a small budget. That's why most all of the fight of the year fights and candidates over the years were on showtime and rarely ever were they on HBO.

HBO with Greenburg was about having the big names but not the best fights. Showtime was about having the best possible matchups they could make/afford.

If he brings that same philosophy over to HBO, which he says he is, but with HBO's much bigger budget....hell yeah I'm excited. I was sick of HBO having al haymon fighters fight for $1 million+ paydays fighting bums. Tired of seeing the big names fight easy opponents.
