Boxing is HUGE!!! We have the gay community very involved that very interesting..but really don't u nuthuggers ever get tired of defending two ****? It's obvious neither of them want the fight! Senseless arguments are driving my sport SMH
Oh and it is ****** to not offer upside, without upside the other guy has no stake in how it does so why do shit to promote the fight~ even if a guy is a nobody it pays for them to have a stake in how the event does as it provides motivation to help promote the fight.
Point is, I don't disagree with that but I'm asking why you wouldn't negotiate from there? $40MM was the starting point, why not attempt to negotiate up to that possible $60MM?
If you walk away you're leaving $40MM on the table, with no guarantee that it will ever be there again, to go and fight for $20MM. I don't understand it.
That's what I don't get. Neither side is negotiating at this point.
In a perfect world, Arum would concede on the May 5 date as long as Mayweather took a 50/50 deal. Instead, we get the stadium excuse and Mayweather's one-sided demand on revenues. This fight won't happen.

That's where I'd hoped this was leading. Manny concedes on the date and/or drops the lawsuit, Floyd gives him 50-50 and the fight's on.
Floyd, having made the first offer, is in a position where he has to wait for a counter. He weakens his stance by countering his own offer and giving up more money.
Example: If I'm selling you an Xbox on Craigslist for $200 and you're interested but I don't hear back from you for a few days, I can't hit you again and say 'okay, 150?'
I've got to give you time to respond while I field other offers. If you see me slashing the price, now you're thinking I'm desperate to sell it so you'll wonder what's wrong with it and you'll want to see how much lower you can get me on the price.

Arum and Pac already said they aren't taking anything but 50/50 after the offer. Plus, Floyd agreed to that split before, so what has changed since then? He's trying to play hardball but he looks like a fool in my book. You can't dictate anything when you're on your way to jail.

He's definitely playing hardball. As a fan I want him to give in to 50-50, but as a businessman, I could understand why he wouldn't. What I can't understand is why $40MM didn't kickstart negotiations.
As far as going to jail, that's completely irrelevant. No disrespect but you're thinking like a fan. Going to jail has no bearing on his drawing power and the money this fight could generate. Believe that it's all about the money.

You missed my point. His impending jail sentence hurts his leverage.
Arum and Pac, who aren't too interested in the fight anyway, know he has a limited amount of time to make a deal so they're in no hurry to negotiate. If they wait him out, they could get a better deal if Floyd gets desperate and offers them 50/50 at the last minute. Floyd thinks he has the upper hand, but he's totally ignoring the vulnerable position he's in right now.
When Floyd was the one pulling in better #'s on a more consistant basis, he was cool with 50/50. Now that Pac is the one generating more money as far as ppv's, gate, and the money that he generates for Vegas when he fights, Floyd wants to offer him $40mil while he runs away with all the ppv revenue for a fight that is expected to break all records? LOL. Anyone who agrees with this either suffers from Floyd lust or doesnt want to see this fight.
I got a question..
Have you done any research on the info you're spilling out on this thread, or are you simply parroting the info you heard someone say?
As unfair as Floyd's offer may sound, there's a huge gap between 7 million and 40 mill.
Maybe Floyd is sending manny a clue, maybe manny needs to step to bob and open the books (something ain't rite at top rank)
