That woulda been a ****ty way to win the fight to be honest. But I'm sure there'd be people cheering as if he had countered a punch and put mayweather on his ass or something. That being said, I think if that happened then we'd be seeing a rematch between the two. But as much as i disliked seeing FLoyd win that way, it was Ortiz' fault, if you would never have headbutted him he'd never have popped you like that. Karma's a *****.

First point it wasn't a "cheap shot" or a "sucker punch" as it's been erroneously characterized. If I had been Floyd and a ***** rolled up on me like that I would've found a way to get a pickaxe in the ring to ware him out with. It's called instant Karma; Ortiz was dealt with much swifter than a lot of cheaters are. Some cheaters go for years without getting caught or punished for their actions until the day finally rolls around, and it does, when they are woefully ill prepared to deal with reality.

Secondly, if the roles were reversed and it was Ortiz that punched Mayweather's ticket, they'd probably be starting work on Ortiz's head on Mount Rushmore. There’d be parades and celebrations and a deafening wave of sports journalism declaring the Mayweather era over. There'd be no love or understanding, just the relentless repercussions for Mayweather's actions and how right Ortiz was for dealing with him.

Lastly, it should be abundantly clear that Mayweather can do no right, so it matters little about the scenario some "fans" will find a way to flip the script anyway and blame Mayweather regardless of what happens.

No doubt about it....

good point TS...I asked this SAME question 5 minutes after Floyd's hand was raised....I was at that fight and it wasn't a cheap investment....that sucker punch ****ed my whole night and trip up....it wasn't cool...but hey, its Floyd so its cool...the same if it was Manny...it would've been cool...but in reality, it wasn't...it may have been within the guidlines of the "protect yourself at all times" rule...but it still wasn't cool.....just because its legal don't mean its right!!!

I agree, I understand sportsmanship and touching gloves after say a low blow, but all this loving at the begining and end is not needed. I always liked the way Tito would throw a left hook when you went to touch gloves, khan i've noticed is similar.
I hate this stuff in UFC, they seem to touch glvoes and cuddle before every single round. At the end of the day its a hurting business and you win by almost any means you can.
