I don't see how this isn't a legit thread. Mayweather fans argued for months over the legitimacy and complete fairness over this KO. Why they wouldn't support a KO-of-the-year nomination with me doesn't make sense.

Maybe because he caught him off guard and it's not that impressive?

Also because there are more knockouts where both men were fighting instead of one dude knocking the other out while he's going in for a hug. I'll give it gayest knockout of the year.

How is this not easily and widely considered the knockout of the year? Makes zero sense.

It is probably the most memorable knock out of the year and the most talked about.

So I don't think it needs that sort of extra recognition, and I don't think it fits in the spirit of the award because it wasn't really in the flow of the fight.

I guess it could but that wouldn't be my choice even in a down knock out year.
