For the Angulo thing:

Truth is, they weren't going to let Vanes fight Canelo even if he beat Angulo, simply because they (GBP) didn't want to. The Angulo fight was supposed to be in Mexico and Angulo was promised a lot more money. They're basicly saying, "We are going to rob you of your #1 spot by making you fight a non-manditory opponent." This whole thing is just disgraceful. Vanes had been the #1 WBC contender for over a year and Oscar tries at the last second to make Canelo's fght Mexican vs. Mexican.

As for Ortiz:

Victor and Vanes are friends. This fight probably won't happen and I can't see it really helping either's career. As someone said, Vanes can't make it below 154.

I doubt that Vanes could even get down to 147. He's fought his entire career as a JMW and a couple MW bouts. Even if he was able to get down to 147 I think he would be totally drained and compromise his chances of winning, but hey if he wants it and it can get made then go for it because I got tickets to this card and I still REALLY want to go!
