Mayweather vs. Berto In The Works?

    http://www.*************.com/headlin...-in-the-works/

    By Scoop Malinowski
Andre Berto has suffered an “arm injury” according to ESPN and his February rematch with Victor Ortiz is said to be in “jeopardy.”
This scenario could work out perfectly for Floyd Mayweather and Al Haymon, who clearly do not want to commit to the biggest boxing event in the history of the sport with Manny Pacquiao.
Here’s what can happen: Berto could pull out of the Ortiz fight and make himself available for Haymon to match up with Mayweather for the May 5 date. Haymon, the powerful boxing advisor, controls both Mayweather and Berto.
Berto pulled out of a scheduled fight date with Shane Mosley in Jan. 2010 two years ago (due to the Haitian earthquake disaster – Berto is of Haitian descent but was born in Florida), which resulted in working out favorably for all as Mosley subsequently took a more lucrative fight with Mayweather months later. Berto was given an easy optional (not mandatory) title defense against Carlos Quintana in April and then a very easy November one round KO victim named Freddy Hernandez.
Could Berto’s sudden and unfortunate “arm injury” end up being a blessing in disguise for Berto, Haymon and Mayweather and result in a somewhat interesting Mayweather vs. Berto WBC title match-up?
Don’t be surprised. But one man who could potentially disrupt this scenario from taking place would be WBC mandatory challenger Selcuk Aydin of Turkey. The undefeated boxer/puncher Aydin won his WBC Eliminator over two years ago and has patiently waited as a succession of three WBC Welterweight beltholders (Berto, Ortiz and Mayweather) have all avoided him while Jose Sulaiman and the WBC have done nothing on Aydin’s behalf. Aydin could legally force Mayweather, Haymon, Sulaiman and Golden Boy to honor him first as the WBC mandatory challenger.
Stay tuned, it looks like things are about to get interesting…
Update: The Berto-Ortiz rematch has been postponed.

So ,had any surgery done on him yet? Looks like a scripted injury for Andre. Floyd needs an opponent not named Pacquiao for his announced May 5 bout.
