Tua needs to make sure he is in great shape for this fight...
Brock vs Tua is on!

I have no interest in seeing Tua do anything in this current HW division. Some of you are stuck in the ****ing past...
Brock has demonstrated pretty good power, boxing ability inside and out, heart, and a pretty good chin. He seems like a good enough guy and he's been very active, trying to take on decent challenges when a lot of these sorry ass champs will not.
Brock is nothing but a bright spot for the division and I hope he gets by Tua so we can see him in fights against the likes of Byrd, Ruiz and Brewster (I think he has a good shot at beating Byrd/Ruiz).
Brock UD Tua, avoiding most of Tua's big shots and maybe having to pick himself up off the mat to win (which he has shown he can and will do).Comment

Spot on, 100%.
Tua looked outright awful in his last fight.
He was stalking his man around the ring, and when he did punch, it was mainly a lazy jab and not a left hook.
I had heard he was re-evaluating taking this fight.
He's been gone too long, and is too rusty.
Brock by easy UD.Comment

i'm with you about Brock, but he has to be really careful against Tua. Tua can KO anybody in any round with either hand, and he's done it in the past to prove it. but right now Brock is the one of the few real boxers in the heavies right now. the heavyweights need a hero, and Brock has moments where he can fill that role. only time will tell. he'll outbox Tua, but if he gets caught it could be over, he's gotta play cool.Originally posted by oldgringoI have no interest in seeing Tua do anything in this current HW division. i just hope that we can shed the skin of these lackluster heavies and make the division great again, i hate to say it, but the heavies are what control boxing and how much attention boxing gets. and right now the heavies are complete ****, from bums getting 2nd and 3rd chances, to crybabies getting their belts back, to the supposedly leader of the pack quitting, the HW division is crap, but if there are more guys like Brock it could bring it back a bit.
Brock is an active fighter, fighting 3-4 times a year, he boxes which most heavies like to throw the 1-2 and hold, he makes exciting fights, and he has moved up in competition each time he fights on tv. he doesnt fight his tunes ups on tv, which i think is a good thing, but if more heavies took his approach in boxing, we would have better heavyweight action as well as better heavyweight fights...
i'm not saying he's the best ever and he's going to be, but he is a fighter who can help change the division i believe. a breathe of fresh air in the stagnant heavyweight division....Comment

I wouldn't believe that cause Brock didn't fight bostice this weekend he fought IbragimovOriginally posted by The_Greatest
Undefeated Heavyweight Contender Calvin Brock won the IBA Continental Americas heavyweight title when he outworked David Bostice in a 12-round unanimous decision at Cricket Arena on Saturday night.
"It's a steppingstone to some bigger matches, and I hope bigger titles," he said. "I don't want them to have a unification tournament without me in it."
"I wanted the knockout, but you have to be careful about leaving yourself open in a fight like this. I trained to go 12 rounds strong."
Brock was judged the winner on all three judges cards by 118-110 twice and 116-112. The 30 year-old Brock set the pace from the opening bell and looked good for the win but Bostice dug deep when he had to and made Brock fight all the way to final bell. Brock rocked Bostice in the ninth and 11th rounds but the Los Angeles born Bostice dug deep in the latter rounds, looking for the knockout punch.
Calvin Brock, who is the only heavyweight contender ranked in the top ten by the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO sanctioning bodies,
has defeated Clifford Etienne (KO3), Jameel McCline (UD10), and Butterbean conqueror Kenny Craven (TKO4) in just 1 year.
Brock, who improved to 27-0-(21 KO's), is now scheduled to face former world title contender David Tua at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on January 28, 2006. For the record Brock won the IBA Continental Americas heavyweight title.Comment

This will be Byrd vs Tua, part II. Only Byrd is substituted with a harder punching boxer.
I like Tua. He's fantastic to watch as he tries to knock people's head off their shoulders....but he is quite the clumsy puncher when it comes to people who can actually box. Oquendo schooled him until he got caught. Lewis made a technical example of how to beat a puncher. Byrd did the same.Comment
