He doesn't really slap. In his flurries he throws a ****load of punches, many of them fast and not so heavy, but mixes in heavier shots with every 4 or 5 that he throws. It works well for him. It confuses the opposition, and they don't know when the heavier blows are coming, plus they are often from unexpected angles.
