Was thinking it would probably be better for boxing in the long run that Alvarez won.

Right now Alvarez is no where near as big as Floyd but can you imagine hype of Alvarez vs Pacquiao (knowing it would be a real fight) should he win. His age is a major factor too.

      An Alvarez win.

Younger fighter, more active fighter, more exciting fighter, more respectful person and someone the entire continent of North America can get behind.

The undefeated part doesn't really mean much.

Alvarez is so overrated its sick. Mayweather would pick Ginger apart and turn his nickname to pizza face instead of cinnamon

idk.. you makes some good points. but lets not forget floyd is an established star with a good amount of fights left in him, he speaks english, hes been one of the main forces who carried boxing for over a decade, floyd vs pacquiao is the biggest fight out there, if floyd loses to canelo its all but ruined.

i think you are probably right though, but you can make a case for either fighter. at the end of the day its great for the sport just that the fight is happening in the first place, who wins doesnt really matter as far as whats good for the sport. the fight being made is great regardless.

I agree regarding speaking English, but Floyd v Pacquiao isn't happening anyway.

The other thing is that Mayweather has been pretty inactive and that doesn't help the sport.

Really? I don't think it's a good fight, would much preferred to have watched Cotto v Mayweather, Pacquiao v Mayweather or even Martinez v Mayweather.

I think Mayweather totally dominates Canelo in a boring one-sided UD.
