Tito was great at 147.why match him against a atg at 160 who has never even came close to being stopped?
Marvin Hagler vs Felix Trinidad

I think if Hagler handled Hearns' right hand, he could definitely eat Trinidad's left hook for breakfest as an appetizer. Hagler wasn't a joke, the guy was underrated beyond belief up until that Hearns fight.
Hagler by a 4th or 5th round KO.Comment

to be fair he stayed in Hearns chest and didnt allow him to gain leverage on that right hand.Tito doesnt need that room to crank that left hook of his..............Last edited by Larry the boss; 01-29-2012, 11:35 PM.Comment

People take it a bit too far with Hagler taking Hearns's right hands. He took some good right hands but not his best. Hearns was most dangerous with his right when he got distance on it to get full leverage (Cuevas, Shuler, Duran). Hearns stunned Hagler with a short right uppercut and then a looping right around the guard. Hearns landed some looping rights around the guard later at range, but not the devastating straight right with full leverage at distance that he used to take out the guys mentioned above.
That's not to say Hagler couldn't take it, but I think it does get a little overblown in this fight.
Regardless, Hagler outboxes and breaks down Trinidad.Comment

This pretty much says it all. The word "monster" is used a lot around here. Hagler is one of the few men the word actually describes. Marvin KOs "Tito" in the early rounds if he takes the approach he did versus Hearns, in the middle rounds if he's feeling patient.Comment

It was a while since I watched that fight. Re watched it and I agree he did stay inside, not to mention Hearns' right hand broke in the first round. So it can look like it wasn't that effective or as effective as it has looked prior to that fight.

I've been o.k, just passin' days.......
You're right, Hagler knocks him senseless in 3 or 4.
Don't believe everything that you get from Hollywood. I did see the movie and I liked the way that they portrayed Jackie as an optomistic go-getter. Jackie was not thrilled with the movie but I'm sure that she felt honored at the same time that somebody noticed her hard work and tried to portray it upon the screen. I thought that it was o.k for a movie, but pure bull**** when it comes to facts except that they won a title together........Rockin'

I don't think Hagler had to fight Hearns on the inside, I think he wanted to. More than any other fighter I've seen, it was important to Marvin to be considered great. After he had been fighting so long to get to the center stage, I think he was in the best shape of his career and wasn't looking for something to be handed to him, he went out and took itComment

If you watch Hearns closely he never really sets his weight down on those right hands in that fight. I got it first hand that somebody rubbed Tommys legs down when Emanuel had left the dressing room really close to fight time. It's hard to really set down on your shots and dig when your legs aren't under you.............Rockin'People take it a bit too far with Hagler taking Hearns's right hands.
