Comments Thread For: Froch Leaning To a UK Clash in May, Not Bute in April

Former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-2, 20KOs) is leaning in the direction of a hometown return in the month of May, and not an April showdown in Montreal with IBF champion Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs). InterBox, who promote Bute, explained during a Friday conference call, that Froch was their number one priority for Bute on April 14th.

Froch and Ward are both entitled to an easy and home fight.

I think Bute and Dirrell should get it on as they both have a lot to prove to the fans.

If anybody is entitled to a homecoming its Carl Froch. I don't blame him for not going to Canada to fight Bute.

After a May fight at home, Froch will have possible fights with the Kessler - Stieglitz winner or lucian Bute.

Has Kessler actually signed to fight Stieglitz or Ward yet? If neither of those fights get made them Kessler-Froch II in Britain makes sense.

Kessler had a date with Stieglitz in November but had to pull out due to a broken finger. The fight is rescheduled for April in Copenhagen.

IM Froch deserves a showtime date above any other 168lber not named Ward.

For once I think Bute and his team should step up to the plate ... Lets go to Nottingham !

I just don't know how it works when they still have a fight with Showtime who's been showing no interrest in a Bute-Froch clash.
