Hatton ready to go to the States.

From The News of the World (not a particularly reputable source, I know, but still...)

"I'm going to appear in superfights in the States and I've given myself three years to achieve the goals I've set.

I've had 39 unbeaten fights and I haven't reached the top rung to fall straight down off the ladder. My 40th fight will be the start of me looking for new scalps to rise even higher. I've dreamed of topping the bill at Madison Square Garden and Las Vegas. Now I'm in a position to do so. I've more freedom now and a bigger say in where I go.

I certainly hope this is not the last British fans see of me. I'd still like to think I'll be able to pop back to put on a show over here [Britain]. I want contests against the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto and Zab Judah. If I can beat Kostya Tszyu, I should have no fear of fighting anybody. I'm not going to blow everything away in my first defence - I might as well not have got here in the first place.

But I've only got the IBF belt to show for it so I'm starting with a unification against WBA champion Maussa when I could have picked other fights.

I've always said that I wanted to meet the best in the world and it needed the Tszyu win for people to believe me.

There's so much more for me to achieve. I feel I've earned well - but not great - so I'm going to really cash in now.

My dispute with Frank has been upsetting. I had to have a couple of days out of the gym because I made myself ill with all the frustration. But I'm more determined than ever."

Yeah, I really hope it all goes according to plan for Hatton. A far more exciing boxer to watch than the likes of Cotto. But would fighting in America really make any difference? Look how many fights Hamed had in America and yet most still hate him. The Prince had no fear taking on anyone across the Atlantic.

        ^^Thats a good point.

The only reason he says America is because they dont want to come over here. Ricky Hatton has been to America to fight already, right? And Mayweather has not gone anywhere outside of his own country. Why shouldnt Mayweather get over here? The only argument the Americans have are the refs. But basing refereeing skills on one fight (Hatton-KT) isnt good enough. They need to look at 50+ fights that took place in this country, then evaluate whether this country is infamous for biased judges/referee's or whether that is just another Mayweather excuse, hyped up by people in the media and people on here....

Dude, Hatton is nothing like Hamed! Hamed was obviously way over the top with his arrogance etc, whereas Ricky is a very respectful and respectable guy who never trash talks. American fans will love Hatton's fighting style, he will treat them, and he will be admired for his modest, down-to-earth, humorous personality too (contrasting sharply with the Hamed's of this world).

              Hey, what the **** man?

My post wasnt a "race fest" and there is absolutely no evidence of it being anything remotely related to race. Thats something that you have just contrived.....

He was acknowledging the fact that Hamed went over to the states and got a certain reception, not that Hamed's fight style or outside ring antics where teh same as Hattons.

It wasnt because of where he was fighting, it was because he was a douchebag.

Cotto's gonna pop Hattons cherry, and give him his first loss.

                    Hatton/Cotto 06 , after Cotto beats Castilla.
