Although this may turn out to be a good fight, I don't understand why so many hardcore fans want to see this fight. They're two weightclasses apart from each other! And now that Rios is gonna struggle so much to make 135 it takes away from the fight a little more (IMO). I'm not saying I'm against it but there are fights within their weightclass that are more significant IMO. If Rios can indeed safely make 135 still then a fight against DeMarco would mean more IMO. Same thing with Gamboa, if he can still safely make 126 then a fight against Garcia or the winner of the Salido vs Lopez fight would mean a lot more as well (if Salido beats Lopez again I think a rematch would be intriguing to see; just to see what adjustments Salido would make against Gamboa)... Just my opinion.
Since it looks like it is gonna happen I'm gonna go ahead and give my prediction. If Rios isn't too weak from making 135, and that's assuming the fight is at 135 (because Oner has said they'll fight Rios at 140), then I have Rios being outboxed in the early rounds but putting tremendous pressure in the process. With the pressure Gamboa starts to fade little by little and ends up being TKO'd... I think Gamboa is about to find out that there is a big difference between getting hit by hard-hitting featherweights and a hard-hitting lightweight!
