I would guesstimate that approximately 96% of registered users on this board are completely incapable of making in-ring assessments on talent, ability & potential. And only have the capabilty of making boxrec arguments, which is the only argument you can make, that favors Mitchell's potential over Wilder's. Wilder would KO Mitchell within 5 RIGHT NOW, he's way too slow, offers very little head movement and is too easy to find with right hands. There's no current Heavyweight on the planet (outside of Wlad), whether contender or prospect that has equivalent athleticism & hand/foot speed to go along with his reach and LEGITIMATE one punch KO power. When the finished product is done in a couple years or so, the kid's going to be completely unstoppable.

It's going to be hilarious bumping these threads around, say, fall 2014 when all of the belts are firmly in Wilder's possession, as well as both Klitschko scalps.

        on development :

mitchell has fought more serious opposition
wilder needs to step his game up and fight an opponent who can outlast his right hand and take him some rounds
Fat chance. There ain't a chin in the world that contains that much iron.

Wilder definitely has A LOT of upside, but he needs to get more experience and pack on at least 20lbs.

BTW, I never knew Wilder was just like Mitchell. Mitchell had dreams of playing in the NFL but was forced to quit due to injuries. Wilder planned on playing for his hometown's football (WR) or basketball (Forward) team but due to his newborn daughter's illness he was forced to attend a community college in 2004.

He stepped into the ring for the first time in his life in 2005, won the bronze Olympic medal just 2 years later in 2007.

To me, it's Wilder. Mitchell is far to slow, especially when he throws his combos. He basically jut stands in front of you and tries to walk you down, throwing slow combos, with no movement hardly at all. Even the last guy he fought hit him with jabs pretty often, Vitali and Wlad would make Mitchell eat jabs all day long. I think Wilder would KO Seth, but with that said, Wilder needs to step his oppostion up in 2012.

Wilder needs to improve alot and he needs to put on some muscle. Seriously, my **** is thicker than his calves. Honestly, both will probably end up as disappointments, but right now I see Mitchell as having more potential.
