I will repeat for the third and final time: the common conception (I haven't seen the fights, hence why I'm asking) is that the opportunity was READILY AVAILABLE to Lewis but he didn't take it when it was there.

So the question I'm asking is WAS the opportunity there, ie. was Holy in serious trouble and ready to go and Lewis shyed away and left it to the judges or is this a phallacy?

Lewis had the chance (sort of) a couple of times in their first fight, the 5th (i think), he caught holy with a sneaky right hand, it looked nothing but it clearly registered and it looked like lenny held back, maybe anticipating a tear up if he went for the finish, personally i think if he had gone in at that moment for the kill he would of maybe got a couple of good punches off but holy would of countered or weathered (like always) and given back enough pain to make lewis revert back to the chess man, so to answer your, oh so obvious , question i'd say no he was not capable in their matches of koing the man who had the best chin in a heavy for generations

Bowe knocked Holyfield down and recently so did Toney, not that this version of Holyfield compares to the that fought Lewis, so I think Lewis would have knocked out Holy with ease had he landed that right more often. Holy knows how to fight tall fighters and managed to elude the big fights just like he did when he fought bowe, though he did get caught in the second fight, which is why he got knocked out.
