BONSANTE - VANDA ?
As of late October according to my sources in the great state of
Minnesota, there is a good possibility of a bout between Anthony Bonsante
and Matt Vanda.
This is a bout that I hope will come off. It would be great for the fans
of the Twin Cities. The two fighters are very popular and carry their own
legion of fans. This kind of reminds of decades ago when the tough city of
Youngstown, Ohio longed for a showdown between Ray " Boom Boom " Mancini and
the hard hitting Harry Arroyo. It never happened and to this day you can
sense the disappointment that the bout never came off. I hope the fans in
Minnesota do not end up with the same regret.
Most people I have talked to about this match up favor Tony Bonsante. I
guess I do to. I've been impressed with Bonsante ever since he took apart
Tony Ayala Jr. a few years back. Bonsante is a well schooled boxer with a
quick, accurate jab. He throws combinations well and is a sharp hitter.
Vanda is strong and has a decent chin. Matt absorbed the bombs of Yuri Boy
and Yuri can ****. I just feel that Bonsante will be too fast for Matt. Tony
will out box him, bust him up and possibly score a late round stoppage.
We'll see. Nevertheless if it comes off it should be a very entertaining
bout for the fans.
