Unless he has a time machine a win over Mosley now does nothing to show he belongs in the ring with Mayweather. Imo he should stay active and target the winner of Berto Ortiz and then maybe if he can beat one of them he would be relevant to Floyd or Manny.

Why doesn't Guerrero try to fight Khan, Maidana OR Brandon Rios. Beating those guys would put him closer to fighting Mayweather or Pacquiao than fighting a used up Shane Mosley!!

What is Mosley bringing to the table then? The guy hasn't won a fight in 3 years. This fight makes sense. If Mosley can't beat a lightweight I'm sure he will retire. If Gurerro looks good he becomes a more marketable fighter to the casuals who probably still think Mosley is relevant.

A GREAT Matchup: Shane Mosley WILL KO Robert Guerrero At 40 Yrs Old!

Mosley has forgotten more about Boxing, than Guererro has ever known. Guerrero cancelled his fight with Marcos Maidana, claiming a torn rotator cuff shoulder injury, then never wanted to reschedule that fight, but has called out everyone else in Boxing since. What a wuss. Please sign that fight with Mosley. Mosley's last two fights with Mayweather and Pacquiao are not indicative of where Shane's skills are today. Like Hopkins, Mosley still has game, is still in outstanding shape and condition. He's always in the gym. What a great fight for Shane Mosley to make another statement, that he is far from out of Boxing. Other than Manny & Floyd, Shane is STILL probably the 3rd best fighter in the division...even at 40 years old. Grow a pair, and sign the fight Guerrero!

I wouldn't mind him fighting Shane in his first fight at 147, but he gotta fight somebody better afterwards, some-one like Mike Jones or the winner of Berto/Ortiz

That's not really a good start for Guerrero. The shoulder situation really derailed his progress. I truly believe he would have defeated Maidana and possibly by KO. He needs to just do what he has to do and stop chasing these big name fighters. Go to 140, fight the winner of Alexander-Maidana, win the fight, and then you may have to take a couple more fights before you reach the top. Mayweather, Pacquiao, Martinez, and Mosley will be retired by the time he's ready for it so he needs to focus on the 2 welterweights who have substantial amounts of time left like Berto and Ortiz. Those are the guys The Ghost will have to beat to be recognized. Mosley would work but everyone knows his best days are behind him. I like the Ghost and I want to see him make it, but not like that.
