This has always been about Bob Arum and the math.

I think too often passion gets mixed in with plain economics and people refuse to see what's right in front of their eyes. Some folks are so eager to blame Mayweather for everything that simple logic escapes them every time. The only way Pacquiao can truly make 50% is if he fired Bob Arum and did what Mayweather and De La Hoya have done.

I just don't see that happening, Pacquiao is an Arum production therefore he was groomed to be ridden, his pedigree is servitude, and his duty is to take fewer of the spoils. So if Bob doesn't want the fight it won't happen, and the only reason he wouldn't want the fight is if he couldn't turn a gargantuan profit. Arum is a business man, not a mindless groupie; he'll make the final decision when and if it's in his best interest.

and what's the biggest PPV of floyd before/after oscar fight?

Look dude, its no question ODH gave floyd the big stage he coveted. But floyd ran with it. Floyd used 24/7 and the ODH stage MASTERFULLY. No matter how you slice it, floyd did more than ODH than other great fighters and other popular fighters.

As a small reminder floyd/shane sold AS MUCH OR more than ODH/tito.

oscar also got a share of floyds revenue as he promoted the fight

oscar got around 65 share while floyd got 35....that means floyd accounts for by their standards around 35 percent of the 2.4m ppv buys which is not even close to 1 million

nobody will ever come close to what oscar was, he was just a megastar

Floyd made the most of his opportunity. How can you hate him for that. Dude brought a chicken with a gold medal around his neck. That was the lead on Sportscenter. Give floyd his due.

Floyd has no peer when it comees to generating interest for a fight. Say what you want, but floyd manny could be the biggest grossing highest selling fight in history. If it is, manny will have 2 fights in the top 9.

You can pretend to like Manny how much you want but at the end of the day his ppv numbers dont match up to Floyd. As a boxing fan I hope both PBF and Manny next fights do horrible numbers. that is the only way for this fight to be is for the fans to force they hand. If they can still make 20+mill fighting d@mn near anybody why would either come of they high horse and make concessions to make the fight?

I am a big PBF fan but I don't care if he fights Cotto i will not buy it. If nobody close to me orders the fight I will just watch it the following week on HBO. I will not continue to spend my money on fights I don't want to see. One fan can't change the course of the fighters but if at least a couple hundred thousand take a stand both parties will feel it.

You guys just seem to hate Floyd more than you like Manny. I still cant understand how many here prefer Bob to rob Manny over Floyd offering him more than Bob ever will if that fight does happen. Im not like PAC-BOY i dont care about Floyd's image in this constant pr battle started by Top Rank. Unlike most of you guys here i approach everything with an open mind and Manny does not deserve equal share when 1. Floyd is the bigger draw believe it or not 2. A mess you say? FYI, because of Floyd Mayweather , boxers are getting paid more now than ever. Because of Floyd, the media actually gives a f@#k about boxing again. This means that more youth will take an intrest in boxing, making it competion for other sports in school age children, which in turn, gives us more quality fighters by starting at a younger age, nothing motivates a human being like "MONEY"!
