Why dont you just go up to your boss (wherever youre working) and demand the exact amount as the investors when you put up nothing? According to you it makes sense to demand your cut when you put up no capital. Manny is worth 7.4 million to Bob Arum, 40 million from Mayweather is more than reasonable.Comment

Does that mean Floyd pays GBP to promote him? I thought he was his own man and took all the profit of his fights. I think Manny "invests" in his fights by paying a cut to Top Rank as well. Different start but same ending, they both pay a promoters fee. And why is it an impossible figure? Are you implying that Pacman doesn't generate any money? Floyd wanting to pay him 40 mil in a 200 mil fight doesn't make any business sense for Pacman's side.Comment

Roger Federer does not make money off the sales of strawberries and cream at Wimbledon, nor does Derek Jeter’s contract include the Yankees’ TV contract in Asia. Mayweather has devised an altogether different model for marquee athletes.
But, under this model, the expenses are Mayweather expenses, too, including advertising (radio spots, print ads, TV commercials), publicity (press tours, news conferences), sanctioning fees, legal contracts and insurance. For a fight of this magnitude, Schaefer said the expenses would run about $10 million.
First, Mayweather will write himself a check this week in the neighborhood of $25 million. This is similar, in concept, to the guaranteed money that other fighters receive from their promoters, but the check is much larger. Besides Mayweather, only Manny Pacquiao would command that much. What Mayweather earns in addition depends on the success of the event.
If 1.4 million or 1.5 million fans buy the fight — which is expected — Mayweather will make about $40 million, Schaefer said.
For comparison, consider Pacquiao. For his coming November fight, Top Rank has guaranteed $22 million and a percentage of other revenue for a total of $30 million, said Bob Arum, chairman of Top Rank. If the fight is canceled because of a natural disaster, for example, Pacquiao will still make $22 million, whereas Mayweather would stand to lose much of his total earnings.

This is propaganda. I thought Top Rank gave Manny his guarantee? Didn't Arum say that he had Manny's guarantee, but Mayweather was waiting for investors for his guarantee? All of a sudden Mayweather is offering Manny his guarantee. I don't buy this crap!Comment

Pacquiao is taking zero financial risk in putting the fight together, yet he want a equal revenue split....

I guess youre more of a moron than me. 7.4million guarantee is more than a 40 million guarantee? No matter how you sugar coat it or pretend to know what youre talking about youre not making any sense. I dont know how much Floyd is making but according to Floyd himself, he still gets checks from the Hatton fight so im guessing he is making a ton on the front end and getting checks on the back end as well.Comment

Why would Pac take a 40 Million guarantee, when he can make a lot more than 40 million fighting Floyd.. Why would he risk getting his share of the PPV buys, close circuit, international TV rights, gate receipts for a guaranteed money..
If you think this is fair, then let Floyd take the 40M guarantee, and let Pac and Top Rank be the lead promoter for this fight and get 100% of the revenue..Last edited by mikemurni; 01-26-2012, 08:29 AM.Comment

As i stated before. 1.4million ppv with 6million is robbery. His ppv share was not a problem when he was fighting in house with Top Rank. Now that Floyd is offering him a 40 million guarantee, people here are still saying he deserves 50:50? Where is the thread questioning why Bob Arum was robbing Pacquiao all these years? Floyd offering 40 million is worse news than Bob Arum robbing him all these years? I guess most here are just frustrated that this fight might not happen.Comment
