Pascal IS faster than Dawson. It's not really all that debatable. Dawson has superior technique. Of the two, Pascal has the greater raw speed. It was why I picked Pascal to win when they fought; I thought his speed would freeze Dawson a lot. It did.

this is the right thing to happen and I'm glad its happening. I could see Dawson really cleaning out the division, not to look past Hopkins, just don't think hes gunna have enough for this you, strong, skilled dude.

Maybe my eyes are fooling me but they seem about the same in speed. I actually think Dawson has the faster hand speed, but just barely faster.

I'd say Pascal. He explodes with his speed. Dawson is just fast with every punch.

Jean's bursts are faster. But if were talking about regular punches they're about the same.

This. When he's in combo, Pascal has some of the fastest hands in the sport. His technique can a mess but he can blaze. Dawson is long, does things right, and is quick so against most guys he gets to target first.

thats the problem with boxing now. Theres more sport and BUSINESS than entertainment. hardcore fans are in denial because they think their hbo/showtime subscriptions are enough to keep the sport in the mainstream, but this **** aint mainstream anymore. If promoters and networks don't put on more competitive and exciting MAJOR fights, its going to be a lot harder to watch this sport on TV.

disagree. for one it is totally debatable.

dawson has much better footwork and footspeed. much better.
bigger steps and faster feet. he can cover more ground while maintaining balance.
he moves better.

if anything isnt up for debate it's that




pascal's hands are fast for four or six rounds, but then they slow the hell down. i do think in the early stages he can beat dawson to the punch from the close and middle distances.
he explodes with flurries and combinations, though. he really doesnt use his speed consistently.

dawson does. he doesn't punch a lot, but he covers distance in the ring.


i got a chance to see a dawson fight from ringside, and that's what has stuck with me (outside of his size, he is huge.)
he takes big steps and has a very wide base that allows him to cover a lot of ground

dawson throws a fast jab and straight punches
his speed is more effective for boxing

pascal is the poor man's roy jones
he cant leap in with is feet, even if he is fast enough to land a looping left hook


it's at least up for debate. i will agree that pascal's hands do move faster in flurries // combinations early in the fight. and he actually throws his hardest and fastest shots
and dawson rarely opens up. when he does he's a heck of a fighter
