The comparison is fair in this regard, a fighter is worth what the promoter is willing to pay him based on the numbers he can generate.

Here, Cotto has Manny and Arum backed into a corner. Cotto has the upper hand because he can always agree to fight Mayweather instead. He can pit Manny against Floyd to see which on will pay him the most.

My advice to Cotto: demand $25 million guaranteed and see who blinks first, Manny or Floyd.
Good luck with that... Floyd is lowballing an opponent that is of equal draw... What makes you think he'll offer that much money to someone not even in the same level as him in drawing power?
If Cotto fights Floyd, expect him to get just a tad more than Mosley.

He actually might get a bit more with Pac, since Arum would most likely try to lock him into another contract.

**** fight for both though, and no, Cotto does not deserve 50/50...

Again, the question is this: other than Floyd, who can Manny fight that will make him as much money as he could fighting Cotto? Answer: no one.

Manny knows this and so does Cotto. So Cotto is in the position to demand as much as Manny. If Manny refuses, Cotto fights Floyd. And then who does Manny fight? Answer: Floyd at a 45-55 split.
Yes Cotto is in the driver seat. But, neither Pac nor Floyd need Cotto enough to give him an equal split. They would choose other opponents if that's the case and do good numbers.

Look @ the Mexicans Pac has faced and look @ the Mexicans Cotto has faced, then you ask that question again if you're still lost in your world.

Lets look at none Mexicans Pac has faced. Like Clottey. For sure Cotto has done better numbers against Mexicans than what Pac has done with none Mexicans right? Right?

Manny against Clottey, a last minute promotion mind you, did over 700k buys on PPV. That's more than Cotto-Margarito 2.

Cotto against Clottey did nice ratings on World Championship Boxing.

Pacquiao does not need Cotto to bring in high numbers. The comparison is ridiculous. Cotto is 3rd yes, but he is a distant 3rd.

Floyd's style is much harder and much more complicated than Pac's.

                    Pac fights ONE way-

                    Floyd is much more versatile-

Cotto should fight Floyd from a fan's perspective though-He would have an easier time dealing with Pac, technically speaking..But Floyd is a harder fight for Cotto.

Who and when? What credible opponent can Manny get for June 9th that will do the numbers of Cotto vs. Manny?

Bradely? Peterson? No way. And JMM wants at least $20 million to do a 4th fight.

Do me a favor, pretend your'e Cotto's manager, and Manny and Floyd are coming at you hard. What do you do? Obviously, you play both sides against each other and end up getting close to an equal share.

If not, Cotto defends his title against a low level contender and makes $4 million.
