U wanna talk Super fight, Super electricity????

Imagine the atmosphere at either San Juan or MSG for a Tito Trinidad-Miguel Cotto Super Fight? If they did that in PR they would have had to shut down the Island. Let's say the Tito from 1999 vs the Cotto of 2007....who wins and how does the fight play out?

trinidad would take his head off

it would really be a matter of the decisions cotto makes:

if he went full retreat he might last a while
but if he went in there like he fought in his prime at 140 and his brief, pre marg tenure at 147 he would get absolutely murdered

you're talking about a totally different class of offensive fighter

think about the guys that wobbled cotto badly
    judah
    corely
    torres

tito would finish the job. kayo in less than six.

different size and frankly class of fighter

it would be a serious occasion in NY and PR for sure.

Insane event. Tito would stop Cotto.

But food for thought....if you've followed Cotto's career closely, for all of his defensive flaws, for whatever reason he hardly ever gets caught with left hooks.

I think in terms of being in the arena on fight night it would be hard to imagine a more intense scene...I mean, as big as Ali and Frazier was in 1971 it was a lot of middle class white people in the building that night...Puerto Rican fans of guys like Tito and Miguel aremuch more intense and vocal and energetic...every single person in the building would be into the fight in a huge way....energy to spare...

Tito is my all time favorite fighter...

Now as far as that event would go it would be ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love cotto but tito would completely knock his head off, in a short amount of time.

I would've loved to see a fight between a prime Fernando Vargas and Cotto too..

I like Trinidad vs Benitez more. Benitez took flush shots from Hearns and Duran and didn't fold. He was bigger than Cotto, his defence was superb, and he damn near matched Leonard in the speed department when they fought. He would have made Trinidad miss a lot. Could go either way when you think about how good Benitez was in his prime. If not for Leonard and Hearns, Benitez could have ruled for a long time. 3 division champ.

I think if Cotto had more of a reach, then I would pick him in a UD/SD

As it is, his T-Rex arms won't allow him to keep Tito at bay with movement and his jab, so the gap is closed and Tito land them bombs

So I'd say probably a UD or TKO12 for Tito in the end.
