Comments Thread For: Miguel Vazquez Dominates Ameth Diaz Over Twelve Rounds

Mexico's Miguel Vazquez won a dominating unanimous twelve round decision over Panamanian puncher Ameth Diaz, retaining his IBF lightweight title for the third time at the Olympic Coliseum at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Vazquez (30-3, 13 KOs) dominated Diaz (31-4, 13 KOs) with his far superior boxing skilss and even sent him to the canvas during the fight. Diaz was unable to get off with any of his big punches and he couldn't break through the tight defense of Vazquez. Diaz was the IBF's mandatory challenger. Two judges scored it 119-108, with the third scoring a shutout at 120-107.

Yep. Its a shame no one of note will fight him at 135. He might have to head up to 140.

Vazquez beats Kim, Zappa beats Kim, Vazquez beats Zappa, Diaz beats Zappa, Vazquez beats Diaz.

Who ever beats Diaz next will fight Vazquez.

He should fight Ricky Burns. Would be a good fight.

Vazquez has really improved since losing to Bradley.
