Mexico, Jan. 21 .- The Mexican Miguel Vazquez, world lightweight champion of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), won today by 12-round unanimous decision Ahmeth Panamanian Diaz to fight held in Guadalajara (Mexico).
Vazquez, who was superior to Diaz during the twelve rounds, dominated largely on the cards: two judges saw it 120-107 and the third win gave him a score of 119-108.
It was the third title defense of the Mexican and the victory gave his record to 30 wins, 13 by knockout and three defeats, while Diaz won his eleventh defeat 30 wins, 21 by knockout.
Vazquez, who was nicknamed 'The Puppet', won the world lightweight title in August 2010 IBF by defeating South Korea's arbitration decision Ji Hoon Kim and defended his crown twice in 2011.
The fight between Vazquez and Diaz was held at the Olympic Coliseum at the University of Guadalajara, 500 miles west of Mexico City.
Diaz failed in his first opportunity to contest a world title.
