  • Why do people hate Byrd and Ruiz?

Why do some people hate them? I would understand about Ruiz because he bitched about a great heavyweight (toney)... but why Byrd? Because he has some decent skills? Because he uses his brain more than his power in the ring? he has the speed thats why hes called Rapidfire...

I mean you should give the guy Credit hes been IBF Heavyweight Champion for almost 4 years now...who has been the champion that long right now from the CURRENT titleholders?

Ruiz has been champion from 2003
Brewster has been champion from 2004
    Rahman from 2 weeks ago...

How about that Ruiz clutch-grab and everytime he loses he complains like a little *****, I love the way he milked those "low blows" against Kirk Johnson.

Chris Byrd...well first of all he hasn't won in a CONVINCING manner in a LONG time and he doens't even attempt to hurt his opponent.

I dont hateeither of them...well maybe Ruiz. The guys a bear-hugging bum. Byrd is all right. I dont think the average fight fan hates Byrd at all. Maybe wish his fights were a little more exciting, IE more KO's

I respect Byrd's skills but I just hate how he doesn't even attempt to put anything into his punches- they all slaps to me.

I don't hate either of them. Personally, I think Byrd has been in some awesome fights. He was doing decently against Ibeabuchi until he got caught with that huge uppercut. Even though he was drooling all over himself when the ref stopped the fight, I thought that he could go on ... he has a great chin. His fight was Tua was awesome as well. He was Tua's master that night and I thought that he was pretty chose to dropping Tuaman with that one body punch.

As for Ruiz, I love to watch him fight, mostly to see if his opponent can come up with something to beat him. Interestingly enough, the two who beat him conclusively in recent years were both really around middleweight in their primes age wise. Too bad about his hugging styles that he employs with "real" heavyweights. Does anyone think that is a direct effect of his getting cold****ed by Tua years ago? That was a brutal knockout.

people hate ruiz because of his boring style
people hate Byrd because he gets gift decisions against many fighters. Also, as of late, his competition has been sub-par at best, not only has he been fighting lower quality fighters, his fights are becoming more and more boring. Personally, i dont believe that Byrd can hang in with the top Hw's of the day today. He had trouble against McCline, Williamson, Oquendo, and obviously golota.
Looking what Brewster did to Golota makes me think that Chris Byrd's days as IBF champion are numbered
