Neither one gets that type of purse without the other its as simple as that. For those that care Pac has fought the better competition by far when he was coming up in the ranks. He fought good comp as a super fly, bantam etc. look back on Floyds early career he fought no one. They've both fought weaker competition as of late but thats the game. You can fight Joe Blow get a clash of heads and possibly loose after 5 if its close. Personally as for the more modern fighter I think Shane Mosely in HIS prime beats them both but thats woulda coulda shoulda BS! Ray.

      1. Floyd's purse has nothing to do with Arum, Top Rank, or Poochiao. GPB is paying Floyd his guarantee purse and I will tell you it's a lot more than what Arum is giving Poochiao. Floyd's purse has nothing to do with them because they're not paying him his guarantee.

      2. Floyd is not asking for a bigger purse. He's asking for a bigger cut of the other revenue. Arum is the one making it a big deal because he would lose millions if Floyd got a bigger cut than Pac. It would mean more money for Floyd and less money that Arum can take away from Pac.

You better believe Floyd is also co-promoting this fight with Arum. So that means he's going to get paid as a fighter and promoter. He's still getting checks for the Hatton and DLH fights because he was a fighter and promoter for the fight.

Its pointless, hell I have posted Manny himself stating how Mayweather talks to a lot of people and he knows Mayweather can make 50-60 mil.....is that Mayweathers fault that he's his own man, why do you think DLH and Mayweather left Arum in the first place to go make huge paydays? Pacquiao should be asking Arum why he's not getting a bigger share of revenue taken in by Top Rank

I think the "revenue" would be controlled by the promoter. Because the revenue consists of PPV, sponsors, and world wide TV contracts, etc. all bargained for and contracted by the promoter. So each fighter is not barganing against the other, except where the purses involved, but with the promoter. I have read several times that star fighters can get as much as 75-80% of the promoter's share of the remainder depending on their deal with the promoter(after PPV,cable etc has taken 50%). Can't recall, but I think it would be nett.

Or it could be an agreed amount of money per PPV buy, remembering that PPV/Cable take 50%.

*** your a deadbeat , Floyd could have not called him out in the first place , not phoned him etc etc if he wanted to kill the fight , I cant believe how feeble minded some of you haters are , you just got to be under 15 .

"Arum gets a big cut of the back-end profits from Poochi's fights because as his promoter he take the risk in staging the event. Floyd is self promoted, therefore it's his risk, his money being used, so he gets to keep all of his profits on the back end.

Example, if the Cotto/Margarito fight would have been canceled, Arum would have taken a huge loss due to promotional expenses, purse guarantees, ect...

              Understand?

Poochi cannot be guaranteed the same amount of profit in $$$$ with Floyd on paper, because of two different business models.

Poochi is getting a percentage taken out of his earnings for having a "MIDDLE MAN" in Arum, where as Floyd does not."

Well can you show me something that states he didn't, also can you tell me why Pac knows stated he knows Mayweather nows people and he can generate 50-60 mil? Funny how you act like he's full of crap, yet all evidence states he made 40 mil.

Ortiz will receive $2 million in guaranteed money, plus a share of pay-per-view revenues, while Mayweather is guaranteed $25 million, and could make as much as $40 million.

Pac is no1 and the biggest name in the sport so deserves more money as he is exciting fighter as well and people pay to watch him fight. People only pay to watch Floyd lose and thats not a good enough reason to get paid more.

Pac is also taking OSTD as well, what more does FLoyd want? Can Pac have choice of gloves and referee then and choice of country and ringsize?

                      You are absolutely correct.

UNLESS OF COURSE Pacquiao said he would take a smaller purse... Did he say that, I am not sure?
