Underrated? Everyone lists his strength as one of his greatest assets, so how could that be underrating it?...

lol, there was no fighting on the inside in those fights. Pacquiao just beat the crap out of him and moved out before Hatton could do any bullying. While against Mosley, the fight hardly ever moved inside as Mosley tried to stay out of range the entire fight.

Pacquiao's strength is average. It isn't underrated or overrated. It's average. He doesn't fight on the inside and hardly ever clinches or goes shoulder to shoulder with opponents and the only time he did was Clottey and that isn't exactly a fair fight to judge his strength on. Clottey is a wall.

      So. Yeah. Average.

Pretty strong for a guy who comes into the ring weighing what most LWs do, but not compared to WWs like Clottey, Ortiz or Berto.

It levels out when you weaken the other guy , or fight them when their shot or fight them when they are inhouse and paid to lose , the dude is a WW fabricated fake and its all coming to light .

He knocks guys down because of the speed of his punches coming from different angles and catching his opponents off guard. It's not like his knocking guys out left and right. If he had all this power he should have KO'd Margarita who was open for punches all night long. But instead he just beat him up. Same with Sergio, after he KO'd Paul people were talking about his punching power like it was God. But before that he wasn't really know for his punching power.
How about if you think in this way. Who is the bigger man or much bigger man in Pac vs Cotto, Clottey, Mosley and Margarito fights? Bigger fighter can take punches well from smaller fighter. Pac against his own size fighters = ko, tko!

He's not really physically strong (out muscle you), he just has pop on his punches.

Same thing with mosley- who is also an exceptionally strong fighter- pac was the one making HIM go backwards on the inside.

You can't judge him by his size at all.

mosley was on the run because he couldnt handle the speed and he was scared of the power, which was clearly a lot more than he was expecting.

he was stronger than hatton, however

he's obviously not going to be able to impose his strength on guys like clottey and margarito, who weigh 165 plus for a fight at WW on the night of the fight.

his legs and calves are naturally as muscular or more muscular than any athlete i've ever seen
considering his size (i'd say his best fighting weight is somewhere between LW and jr WW) he's incredibly strong
