Comments Thread For: Ishe Smith Inks Deal With Prize Fight, Returns on March 29
BoxingScene.com was advised by junior middleweight contender Ishe Smith (22-5, 10KOs) that he has signed a promotional contract with Prize Fight Promotions.
good for Ishe, he needs to fight somebody. he was begging Pirog for a fight and was even willing to go to Russia but was turned down for Maciel.
Prize Fight has a couple of prospect that they'll probably put Ishe against like Dominic Wade and maybe even Shawn Porter if Ishe can get down to 147 or Porter moves up.
I don't see much else for him simply because he's too defense for most promoters to put their guys up agianst but I'm guessing Prize Fight wants to put a name under their guys' belt
@rey guey: Aw com'on man, Ishe hasn't done squat, zip, nothin, nada to merit a shot at Pirog. His only claim to "fame" was being a "Contender Series" participant. He's won only ONE fairly meaningful fight in EIGHT years, a decision over Pawel Wolak. He's a crybaby that needs to talk LESS and fight MORE.
but people know who he is. all I'm saying is if Pirog would have fought smith it would have upped his US profile, which would make a fight with Martinez easy.
Ishe Smith, Peter Manfredo and Erislandy Lara all were offered to him at one point but he didn't want any of them and Lara is the only dangerous guy in that group
How about Pirog ATTEMPT to fight SOMEONE whose name doesn't end in Martinez???? As in ANY fighter at this point. He should have had 3 TV fights by now and basically dropped off the side of the earth except for calling out Martinez. Hopefully Pirog will unretire....well maybe not.
