Who thinks Taylor won the first fight?

I think he won it by a close decision because hopkins gave away too many rounds. the thing i find that is weird is first hopkins was saying taylor didnt win the fight, then he said it could have been easily a draw. this is what i dont like about B-Hop why does'nt he just admit he lost get over it and then give a rematch, if he admitted he lost a close decision by 1 round or something, than it was okay, if he beat him in the rematch...

I respect Hopkins a lot for what hes accomplished, BUT hes getting older now...Maybe its Taylor time?

His comments to it being a draw were in response to Ford's error giving round 12 to Taylor. Very simply, if he'd been paying attention and scored that No-Brainer of a round, the fight would have been a draw.

Personally I thought it was an even fight that could have gone either way.

    I had it 115-113 Hopkins.

There were a lot of early rounds where Hopkins landed 2 or 3 power punches, and Taylor landed 8 or 9 jabs.

A majority of people had Taylor winning because of how he won so many of the early rounds, but I had a few for Hopkins, because in a lot of those rounds where Taylor was landing 8 jabs, he was throwing 30 and missing 70 or 80% of them.

In uneventful and close rounds, defense is an element of scoring, and I gave Hopkins credit in a few of the close rounds for taking Taylor's jab away.

In the end, Hopkins poured it on late, and there's no doubt he did more damage in the fight, but it was viewed as too little too late by a lot of people.

I have no problem with someone scoring the fight for Taylor.

It was close, and he did well considering his age and who he was in with.

I just happened to see it for Nard by a close margin.

Looking forward to the rematch though.

I personally scored it 115-113 Hopkins but a draw would have been fair....you just don't win a title from a long time champ with that effort he took nothing he was handed it.

I scored it 115-113 for Taylor...although i favoured hopkins in the fight, i had to make a right judgement, ive watched the fight 5 times now, if it was a draw it would be fair, but i scored it that way after watching the fight that many times

115-113 Hopkins... do a search on this, and you'll find enough threads about this to last you a week, should've been a draw.. Ford's incompetent.

115-113 Taylor, all clear rounds to me. Wouldn't have even been close if Taylor was used to 12 round fights.

I had it 114-114 a draw. Hopkins won 3, 5, 9, 10, 11 and 12 in my opinion. Those early rounds saw him landing better, sharper punches than Taylor, as well as using his defensive prowess to take away anything Taylor tried to do to him. Rounds shouldn't only be scored on the facts that you threw more punches and were a bit more aggressive.

9-12 were pretty easy to score in my opinion. I am looking forward to the rematch.

5 was easy to score for Hopkins in my opinion as well.
