Anybody know who and when he's fighting next? I love watching him fight.
What's up with Yuriorkis Gamboa?

I think they are still negotiating with Roman Martinez for a March fight, although its looking like Martinez will probably turn it down.
The camp of former champion Roman 'Rocky' Martinez (25-1, 16KOs) are still reviewing a submitted offer from Top Rank, regarding a potential fight with unbeaten Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0, 16KOs) in the month of March. As previously reported, Martinez doesn't like the financial numbers and he may take another path, like a world title eliminator for a shot at the WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner. -
What about Chris John? I'd like to see YG fight John, Broner, Lopez, etc. Is he still planning on moving up in weight? I remember Rios being mentioned as a possible opponent but I think Brandon is just to big for YG. Rios should probably be fighting at JWW.I think they are still negotiating with Roman Martinez for a March fight, although its looking like Martinez will probably turn it down.

Ahh, nice fantasy but Chris John is busy chasing LEGENDS like Billy Dib:
The World Boxing Association’s featherweight super champion, Chris John, announced on Saturday that his next bout would be on March 31 in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, and will likely be a title unification showdown.
All those are great fights but from what I understand Gamboa is really set on moving up in weight and wants Brandon Rios. Again from my understanding, Gamboa wants BIG fights, he wants Pacquiao and the super elite fighters, he wants million dollar paydays. He believes Rios is the key to getting there.I'd like to see YG fight John, Broner, Lopez, etc. Is he still planning on moving up in weight? Gamboa is a much better fighter than Rios imo, but Rios may just be too big for him. If they fight at 135, I could only imagine the fight night weight advantage that Rios would have.......Ahh, nice fantasy but Chris John is busy chasing LEGENDS like Billy Dib:

yeah I agree with that. It may be foolish on Gamboa's part, but that is his plan. And Rios has said he will fight at 135 for Gamboa only (or Marquez), so the fight is very doable.
Gamboa is faster and has more skills than Rios, but like you said the size difference could be just too much for Gamboa to handle.
But the risk/reward favors gamboa here. If he wins, obviously he makes a HUGE statement and is on the verge of fighting really big named guys. If he loses, well everyone will just say Rios was too big and Gamboa can go back down to 126/130 and still be a force. So I can understand his motives.Comment

If, IF Gamboa KO'd Rios, can you imagine the lightweight scene then?
A competitive Gamboa at 135 would probably find fights easily at that weight, since the top competition (Marquez, etc) would favor their size and skills against the smaller man.
Although honestly, I would like Gamboa to test the waters at 130 first.
Anyone up for Gamboa/Uchiyama?Comment
