Why would anyone want to see Peterson vs Marquez?

Peterson/Marquez would be an amazing fight.

Its a shame all these fighters have to be put on hold until Mayweather and Pacquiao decide whats going to happen. I wish Cotto would fight Canelo, Marquez fight Bradley and Peterson rematch Khan then Mayweather and Pacquiao are in a bad situation if they dont fight each other. If that happened the sport would keep moving forward and we would get to see some decent fights that people would actually look forward to, I would anyway.

Has he? He had the chance to get one against Khan but he turned it down. Why would he fight Peterson? Will Peterson even have his titles?

I would suggest fans would much rather see a rematch of Khan-Peterson. Peterson-Marquez is just meaningless filler.

The feeling I get is Peterson is looking at a rematch with Khan as a low priority. Team Khan are playing a double game trying to get a rematch or the titles back. If they can pick up a title my guess is Peterson will be offered no more than the original fight and Peterson will walk away. The only way I see a rematch happening is if Peterson can not secure a bigger payday and only then after Peterson has made some money fighting an easy opponent.

If Peterson has to take the rematch, I hope he makes it go to purse bid. That way he will get the majority of the money since he is the Champ.
