Late last week Brian Magee´s defense of the WBA interim-super middle title against Dane Rudy Markussen, tentatively set for February 18th in Copenhagen, was again pronounced dead. Will be a great fight! Could go both ways but I think Markussen could take it by KO, if he aint too slow. The cobra had his hands full until he started launched his uppercut. -
Believe Mogens Palle is the mayor problem. He still thinks Markussen owns him money. The match up would be great though.......Comment

As i recall it in 2006 just after Kessler beat Andrade, Markussen had to fight Sergey Tatevosyan for the last fight of the evening.
But due to some dispute between Palle and Markussen, he simply just lost that fight on purpose and walked away...... Markussen then didnt fight for 3,5 years. Mads Larsen had already left Palle, and some years letter Kessler left Palle too.
Sauerland then signed first Mads Larsen, then Mikkel Kessler and finally Rudy Markussen. If he will get this big fight, surely Palle wants his money back. As mentioned § 100.000 (corrected 1/18)
I.l guess the biggest issue is, who will pay Palle of.....
Palle and Sauerland hate each others.....................so...??

what's Markussen like? I don't think I've ever seen him. Will he be a harder fight than the version of Larsen Magee fought?The fight is on

When this fight was talked about a while ago i thought i knew the Danish bloke he was going up against, but i was confusing him with an up and comer i saw on an undercard, some bloke covered in tatoos called Nielsen (who for some reason came up on loads of pics on google image when i searched for Markussen) It was only when i saw the big period of inactivity on boxrec i caught on it was someone else.
He looked decent enough when i saw him, do u rate him at all (Nielsen)?Comment

Patrick Nielsen? He's the best prospect in Denmark since Kessler and has mainstream appeal as well as exposure: He was no.2 in dancing with the stars.
He's only 20 years old, but has fought main events for practically his entire career. That says a lot about the state of danish boxing below Kessler, but also about Nielsen. He's touted as the new Kessler which might be a reach, but he is likeable, dedicated, skilled and with above-average power. He might take an alphabetstrap before everything is said and done.Comment
