So the man who disrespected the Puerto Rican flag, and publicly stated, he'd never lose to a white boy, is concerned about young black men following in his footsteps?

I'd say, Hopkins should be more concerned about, Dawson checking that chin in a rematch.

But for every 6' 5" guy in America there probably two guys in Europe who are 6' 6" or 6' 7". The heavyweight division has turned into the division of the giants.

There are many Americans in the heavyweight division but the fact is they aren't very big. According to boxrec's rating the top five are heavies are Eddie Chambers (6' 1"), Tony Thompson (6' 5"), Franklin Lawrence (height not mentioned), Chris Arreola (6' 4"), Seth Mitchell (6' 2"). The top 5 European heavies are Wlad (6' 6"), Vitali (6' 7.5"), Povetkin (6' 2"), Adamek (6' 1.5"), and Tyson Fury (6' 9"). The American's average is 6' 3". The European's is just over 6' 5".

In boxrec's top 25 heavyweights, 7 are 6' 6" or above. Only one of these is American.

Besides, how much money is invested in boxing in Europe. Is it significantly higher per capita than America? I doubt it.

I'm not saying this is the only factor and but to say it isn't a factor at all is naive.

dude it's not just the height but look at the bodies of the american's you listed.

The only guy you mentioned that is in shape is Seth Mitchell and the fact he's an EX FOOTBALL PLAYER WHO NEVER BOXED BEFORE IN HIS LIFE PRIOR TO 2006 proves my point exactly. If he is a top 5 american heavyweight, quite obviously the american heavyweight scene is pure trash. Why? Because of lack of talent. Not because of Europeans since we're talking strictly American's. It's not about size it's about there are hardly any fighters. That top 5 list is an embarrassment. The only guy there that has some boxing skills is Eddie Chambers and let's be real if he was in real shape he'd be a cruiserweight, not a HW.

It's not like the Europeans are some world beaters either. Besides the Klitschko's, no one you listed is that good. Valuev? yeah he's a tall freak of a nature that sucks and lost to John Ruiz (american) who was like a foot shorter than him. Tyson Fury are you kidding me? Adamek? Povetkin? All these guys would get absolutely schooled by any american heavyweights of the past worth a damn and you know it. The European list is almost just as embarrassing! The only reason they are anybody is because the HW division is totally **** right now, I mean it is real bad. If the European fighters were actually good you might have a point but they aren't. They all suck ass or are mediocre. The Klitschko's are talented and really that's it. There is such a huge gap between the best (klistchko's) and the second best (Povetkin? David Haye?? Chisora? Helenius?!)

I was unaware boxing was a bodybuilding contest. Here's a pic of Frazier and Ali:

Not the most chiselled of fellows, were they? Didn't matter, cause they could fight. Fighters come in all shapes and sizes. And they don't need rippling six packs to do so.

I didn't realize ali & frazier were fat asses. Thanks for proving my point more as both guys were in tremendous shape being able to battle for 15 rounds. Let's see our "top 5 american heavyweight" Arreola go to war for 15 rounds. I wasn't talking about huge muscles I said "IN SHAPE." Next!

Notice how there isn't big jelly rolls of fat on their bodies??

Not in fighting shape obviously, but Frazier was never physically able to come close to someone like Holyfield physique wise. Did it matter? Nope.

Post a pic of two fighters in the act of throwing or defending against a punch and you're going to see a similar thing.

Here's Chambers landing a right on Povetkin.

Look like a fat guy to you?
