Juan Manuel Marquez said that Bob Arum had the fight fixed?

I stumbled across a video on youtube with Marquez claiming that Bob Arum told him the result against his Pacquiao fight was business.

I scored the fight a draw, but I could see either guy winning by 1 round.. it was a very close fight imo. But marquez himself said before the fight that he needed to try and go for the KO because he didn't want to let the fight go to the cards, but he hardly fought like a guy going for the KO. So it's ****** for him to put the blame on everyone else other than himself...because if after 3 fights you still can't beat your opponent, then maybe there is something you are doing wrong.

also, calling corruption on these 3 fights is ****** too. pacquiao wasn't with top rank in the first fight and he had only been fighting in the U.S. for like 3 years so he wasn't a big name or anything. also, in the rematch, pac was signed with top rank, but he wasn't bob arum's cash cow or biggest star at the time, so to say that arum would invest all of his effort into rigging that fight doesn't make sense. plus in the second fight pac only won by 1 point!

saying "it's just business" doesn't necessarily mean the fight was fixed, it could mean a ton of things. It could mean it's business as usual that the popular champion got the nod in a close fight, it could mean it's business as usual that the judges scored it for the more active guy instead of the guy landing the cleaner/harder shots, etc etc etc.

Personally I thought it was a close fight and wouldn't have been upset with a Marquez close win, a draw or a pac close win.

If I'm going to talk robberies than I'll talk about Lara vs williams, Chisora vs Helenius, etc., not a close fight like pac-jmm, khan-peterson, etc.

Well if you cant get the result you deserve does that not count as a fixed fight? I didnt see it as a close fight at all, JMM won in my opinion im not just forming an opinion cause the media told me so. Why would Bob tell him its business if he thought it was a close fight?

The rounds were close, but Marquez won more rounds, so IMO it wasn't a close fight when you end up with a card like mine which was 8-3-1

For every 1 video you can find on YouTube proclaiming Pacquiao won the fight, I'll find you 15 saying Marquez was robbed.

well you can interpret it anyway you want, all I'm saying is that doesn't prove it was fixed (if arum said that).

I understand what youre saying. I think you mean i cant prove Bob Arum had the fight fixed but there was definately something fishy about the results and Bob's comment. They probably gave Pacquiao the win for a potential bout against Mayweather and the media went along with it so they can capitalize from that mega fight.

It wouldn't be the first or last fight that Arum has played an active part in the outcome! imo
