What's the best belt to chase first?

I don't know if this should be a thread, but it's just a question I have..

If you were a boxer what would be the best belt to chase first out of IBF and WBC?

    Any of 'em

The best belt to win is the first one that you're offered. They are all equally worthless, the RING belt is the only one that counts for anything. However, for an up-&-comer, I vote the NABF belt. it's a regional title that'll get you a world ranking and sometimes more recognition than the WBO/WBA can produce.

i think ibf is more respected between the two. i say aim at once for the major belts, but ring mag is the most respected of them all, although it doesn't count as legit.

I kinda agree actually. The ring belt is the linar title, you true champ, the man who beat the man who beat the beat who beat the man etc...
At this momment the true champions are:
Heavy: Lennox lewis (unless he pulls out of the rematch with Vitiali )

Crusier: Really should be Toney but he is heavyweight now, I guess Momeck

        Lightheavy: Glen Johnson

        Supermiddle: Joe Calzaghe

        Middle: Hopkins

        Light Middle: Winky Wright

        Welter: Cory Spinks

        Light welter: Tsyzu

Lightweight: José Luis Castillo Vs woman beater winner

        Super feather: Barrea

        Feather: Manny Pacquiao

        Super Bantamweight: Oscar Larios

        Bantam: Veeraphol Sahaprom

These are the true champions of their weight divisions. Took me time tracing the titles back on boxrec. Lennox lewis is still heavyweight champion untll he is officially inactive, since the fight with Klitscko is more or else gonna happen now Klitscko will have to beat him to be champion. Correles is not the champion nor is Castillo, the winner will be.

I keep on hearing about "The ring belt" is this a real belt or just a magazine's opinion?

It isn`t the mags opinion. It is the title traced back to its original holder. Lennox lewis holds the heavyweight title because it can be traced back to Floyd patterson, like wise with the middleweight title.

I agree the ring belt is what counts. I guess the first belt was the wbc?

RING BELT!! the other belts are mostly corrupt...specially WBC? or whoever that Sulaiman guy is presiding over. He's been reigning for years when rules says you must pass it on to other deserving peeps of a different country!!

So why doesn't Ring Magazine just make an actual belt organization. They have money from their magazines and stuff.

I think that it depends on what weight div you are in! Obviously if you are a jnr welter the belt that you want is the IBF because the man that holds it is recognised as the true champ.
