Comments Thread For: Jhonny Gonzalez: After Rojas, I Want Takahiro Aoh's Title!

WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (51-7, 45KOs) is training for his mandatory fight against Elio Rojas on the Dominican Republic. No date or venue has been set, but the fight is scheduled to take place in the month of March. Gonzalez , 30-years-old, has a big goal in 2012 - to win a third divisional title. By the end of the year, Gonzalez wants to make his move to super featherweight to challenge WBC champion Takahiro Aoh (22-2, 10KOs). Now trained by hall-of-fame coach Nacho Beristain, Gonzalez believes 2011 was the best year of his entire career.

First worry about Rojas, who is a fine fighter, then worry about the Jap.

Aoh had a hard time dealing with Oscar Larios, who at the time had already been a shot fighter. I don't think that the young JP champion can handle another Mexican contender successfully. Aoh should stay away from peleadores mexicanos.
