Both are free agents so to speak and both are the 2 best Latino fighters of this era, they got the Puerto Rico-Mexico rivalry going and Cotto is a proven PPV so he can carry the A side of a promotion. This would be a dream fight and one that would do huge numbers on PPV.

As much as I would've like to see this match-up, I think the intelligent thing for Cotto to do is, forget about WW and focus on building his legacy at JMW. I don't want to see Cotto perform weight-drained ever again (i hate seeing any fighter weight-drained). In the long run, it will mean more to beat guys like Canelo/Kirkland/Martinez who are at/near the beginning of their primes, than a JMM who's not operating at his prime weight anymore. Can JMM beat Cotto at 147? i wouldn't put it pass him. Should Cotto be tempted to move down once more to face a legend? really don't think so. People will complain endlessly about it. All of his fights at JMW are fool-proof, cuz nobody there (other than K9) is out of their prime. They might be young and inexperienced, but that's a whole other discussion lol

If the weight is at 147 , then yeah.. IMO and JMM would **** him up so bad.... Anything at 147 and under is an advantage to JMM but anything above147 would favor Cotto.. This is a hard fight just because of the weight issue!!
