I've been saying for some time that there are many fighters that have a good shot at beating Pacman that do fight around 147. Has he ever really fought a prime, strong welterweight? Name just 1.

well, he didnt throw any punches,
but clottey was considered prime leading up to the pacquiao fight.

some folks thought he won the cotto fight
and he was very respected and considered a bit of a dark horse in a very strong division.

when he laid an egg in the ring, however, it became apparent that his best days were behind him.

i'm starting to figure out that most of the people defending the cotto rematch are those who didn't watch cotto in his prime, and arent aware of how far he has deteriorated in terms of his skills and his fighting will

prime miguel cotto doesnt run from pacquiao for 7 rounds without even trying to win the fight
Ricardo Torres hurt Cotto, Judah did as well but couldn't string enough punches together. Judah could've won that fight if he wasn't just looking for the big shot. Corley hurt Cotto, Malignaggi did as well.

i dont really see your point.
cotto beat the brakes off of zab judah. he was really only in trouble twice.

he never got on his bike after taking those shots, dude

he came back and won those fights via knockout other than against malinaggi, who is a very solid boxer with a terrific chin.

miguel cotto has never been the same since his fight with antonio margarito when he was lacing his wraps with plaster.

I agree, somehow Clottey slipped my mind. But yeas he hadn't taken much punishment up to that fight so I'd say he wasn't to far past it, thanks!

cotto, he said it himself he was at his best condition ever for the pac fight, he came in 146 in past 3 out of 4 fights before that as well. Cotto is a good welter to beat, not great but good

also add clottey to that list, one of those high risk low reward fighters

Sorry bro, but Pacquiao's not that bad of a fighter, and Bradley's not that good. Bradley will be at optimal weight, he will be somewhat difficult, but not insurmountable. Judging from the excuse of cut concerns, I find it highly doubtful that they would even consider putting southpaw and prone to butt caused cuts, in there with 3 fisted Tim Bradley. He's a fighter who uses his head in every sense of the word. Pacquiao's going to continue draining fighters, fighting over the hill fighters, and recent KO victims. Pac's team is smart and they have a system in play that seems to be very effevtive. As far as legacy and reputation, it's causing his stock to plummet. His name will be linked to more negative things than positive things. Fight Cotto, who's been at 154 sinve his last loss, at 147. Pac wasn't man enough to fight Cotto at 147 in 2009, but 2 years later, he is willing to do it. This guy is a fraud if I've ever witnessed one. They call my guy Floyd a fraud? Well ok. What does that make Manny???

People may have thought he won the Cotto fight. I may have been one of them. The issue I had with him was his behavior during the fight. Arty Jr [the ref] had to remind Clottey that he was in a championship fight. That alone dropped his stock 20 fold and it was a clear duck to choose him after they ducked out of an announced fight with Mayweather. He doesn't count as a prime welterweight.
