IMO Roach does not want Khan to fight Peterson again. Peterson exposed the deficiencies in Khan's technique (no inside skills) and whether you think Khan lost or won those deficiencies will get exposed again. The best Roach can realistically hope for in a rematch is a scrappy points win.
If Peterson fights Manny he will be out of the picture and take a beating. It is an easy fight for Manny which he needs right now after his laft performance against Marques. So the Peterson fight deals with two problems in one go.

I'm actually kinda confused. I read Freddie Roach's interview with ESPN today and I could sense some twisted talk from this HOF trainer. He said he really wants Pac to fight LP. He then went on to say he wanted LP to have his rematch with Khan in December first. What the hell is he talking about??? We're talking about now. The bottom line is that Freddie Roach, Bob Arum, Koncz, Buboy, and Pacquiao himself know that Mayweather is a nightmare scenario for Pac and they'd rather have him involved in more of a managable matchup. Floyd is too dangerous for Manny according to them. It must be easy to fathom considering how they thought Mosley was too dangerous for Pacquiao before he got spanked by Floyd and stunk up the staples center against Mora. Floyd still hasn't looked vulnerable at all yet. They don't want the fight, period.
