I wouldn't consider Cotto number 1 JMW, definitely not, but then again hardly anyone is making the attempt to prove it. I agree that Cotto needs to finally step up and fight Lara, Kirkland-Molina winner, fighters of that caliber. Guess we'll agree to disagree on this one, I think he does well against any of those names.

In the Rafael article that you're discussing.
Anyways, it's irrelevant to your original statement that Floyd had to fight Baldomir in order get Oscar. No, he didn't "HAVE" to fight Baldomir in order to get Oscar. However, he did choose to fight Baldomir.Comment

Arums smear campaign of the big bad Margarito, was brilliant. It worked perfectly. A lot of peole truly believe all of this.
When Arum got word that Floyd was leaving Top Rank to pursue a DLH fight, that's when he offered the Margarito fight. Cause he knew Floyd was not gonna take Margarito over DLH, the bigger pay day. And certainly at the time, DLH would have kicked Margaritos ass.
Everything fell through with DLH after Mayweather had left Top Rankm he had no one to fight, while being pressured by Brian Kenny and dumb fans to fight Carlos Baldomir(who now was a bad choice), he had to fight Baldomir, cause he wasn't gonna do any business with Bob The Builder.Comment

Well they weren't going to sit and wait on Oscar. They looked at Mosley as an alternative but Mosley needed time off.Comment

LMAO @ Floyd having to move heaven & earth to fight the likes of Margarito.
Nobody even knew who that clown was in '06, outside of a handful of hardcore boxing nerds and maybe a few Mexicans.
Margarito, at no time was THE most viable opponent for Floyd @ Welterweight, outside of maybe late '05 when he failed to secure a fight with Judah and took Mitchell instead.
'06 Baldomir >>>>> Margarito
Judah (even coming off a loss) >>>>>>> Margarito
Oscar @ Junior-Middleweight >>>>> Margarito
Hatton >>>>> Margarito
Stop elevating Margarito into something he's not and has never been. The shit is sickening. The man is a proven fraud and hypejob.
It's like harping on Pac not fighting Guzman & Valero @ 130/135.... scratch that, it's even worse. Guzman & Valero never had to resort to putting cinderblocks in their gloves to win fights.Comment

I agree. There isn't really a difference between Baldomir and Margarito, besides the fact that Baldo never had to cheat to win.LMAO @ Floyd having to move heaven & earth to fight the likes of Margarito.
