The only way to get to Oscar was to take Baldi on first, Arum was not interested in helping Floyd with the Oscar fight so he couldn't have fought Margarito at any point before Oscar.

Against Joel Julio, that's where he looked every bit decent and I never saw why anybody would have picked him to beat Cotto. Cotto still has it in him to beat all these guys, more of a testament to how average I think 154 is.
Beating one top 10 fighter at 154 in 2 years doesn't convince me that Cotto has it in him to beat the aforementioned guys at 154. Cotto is not the #1 JMW for beating the non-top 10 ranked Mayorga and Margarito.

He beats none of them. I can see him beating Cory Spinks though, a fighter who's in the level of shotness of Mayorga and Margarito and isn't ranked in the top 10 in any weight class.

PPV numbers wise, and how much money it would generate, it's an AAA+.

The match up always ****** to me, and from 2008 till now when the Floyd-Pac talks started, it's always been laughable to me. I laugh at any one who gives Pacquiao even a slim chance at beating Floyd or even giving him a challenge. Pacquiao would look like a clown in there with Floyd. By the 3rd round he would be thinking "Why didn't I just listen to my promoter, Bob Arum. He knew what was best for me all along".

              Ditto.......

I can agree with this sentiment here. Imho a lot of the hype for a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight was generated by Pacquiao's delusional fans that think Manny has the mystical ability to punch through solid rock, coupled with a group of haters that just want to see Mayweather humbled. When you put delusional fans next to spiteful ones you get what we've been experiencing for the last several years, an idiotic crescendo of intolerance and irrational behavior.

I think phenomena like this happens when people don't just put faith into their favorite fighter(s), but they invest things that are best left to the individual like hopes and dreams. Some things should never be given away to another person, especially if we have no idea what those qualities mean to us in the first place.

Post a link where it states that Floyd made less money.
